If you are wondering "what is a Bugly?"
Well, first it started like this...we were always fond of old VW Bugs and one day we spotted a 1967 VW Convertible Bug for sale that was affordable and an added plus…it ran! We wanted to be able to go off-road when the dunes at Silver Lake, MI were too crowded, so we purchased "Bugly."
For several years we ran it off-road and on little trips with our two children. But our dream was to build it into a real off-road machine…a "Baja Bugly." So after our rail was finished ("Time Bomb"), we set out to build Baja "Bugly." Plus, I wanted a vehicle that could handle those bumps and ruts that the dunes are famous for and still go fast! Well, I think we have built the perfect vehicle to handle it all… "Bugly."
