Dunatic's Details...
"Sand Sports" Magazine Article
We were thrilled to be honored with having our rail featured in "Sand Sports" magazine issue dated September 1998 on these three pages: 48, 49 and 75.
The plans for this article started when we were contacted by Michael Sommer to do a photo shoot on the Dunes at Silver Lake, MI last July 1997. Mike had flown in from California to take photos of our buggy and our friends' (Larry and Michele Woods) "Mirage" buggy which was featured in "Sand Sports" magazine issue dated Winter 1998. Mike was also in Michigan to do an article on Mears Metal Products.
Anyway, the day Mike took the photos was a bit overcast, but the photos are still very good and we thought the article on our rail "Pristine Performer" was very well written by Mike. We wanted Mike to take the pictures even if the day was overcast because the rail was clean and we knew if we went out playing in the sand it wouldn't stay clean and we could break something, thus the name we finally came up with: "Time Bomb" you never know when it might blow up. I'm sure you all know what I mean! This has not been a great year for us beginning last summer, blowing up the motor; this spring blowing the clutch and the turbo. As well, the transmission and dropping a couple valve seats in the motor this summer. Oh well, if you play, you pay. Now back to the article, if you'd like to read it, you will probably have to purchase the magazine. Below is just a sample of what it looks like. Of course, I think the magazine is worth buying.

Also, featured in "Sand Sports" issue dated September 1998, page 62 were details of the "Great Lake Gathering." This gathering is the biggest trade show event of the year. We entered our rail and were pleasantly surprised to win "Best of Show." That was the Swap Meet at Lansing, MI in 1998.
